Not all youth who enter the juvenile justice system have special education needs or are in court due to school-based arrests. However, since many youth who are in the juvenile justice system have special educational needs and because there is an increase in school-based arrests, the following links will give you some tools and resources to better advocate for your clients who have special educational needs and to better understand how the school system can play an important role in your client’s case.
